We bought this 1997 M3 last summer with the goal of doing a really quick build into a drift car. Well it turns out we can't leave well enough alone, as uaual! LOL

The S52 motor had some issues which killed our plans of slapping on a turbo and going out to play. As it turns out BMW motors are expensive to build so we threw it away and sourced an LS1 out of a 2001 WS6 Firebird with very low miles that had been totalled.  Hey presto 400+WHP for very little $$, and very easy to build whatever HP we want in the future :)

The car is being built to spec for SCCA road racing and will be classed either in ITE or SPO depending what tires we run. It will be used mainly for Time Attack and Drifting though as we love going slideways.

Initial build keeps the motor stock but we all know that it wont stay that way for long, and once the chassis is dialed in we will probably build some firebreathing normally aspirated, high revving LS3.

The project is a work in progress and is currently getting its cage and race prep. Then it will receive a GTR wide body setup and be beaten on hard in the spring :)
