Judas engine review complete, its dead :(

After a careful teardown review of the engine from Judas, the final conclusion is that we broke it :P
We believe a couple fo things happened that led to its demise;
1) Insufficient oil volume: At the high BMEP and rod angle of this motor the oil film was being hammered out = metal on metal contact, which quickly led to bearing wear.
2) Oiling issues - The LS1 galleries are not a great design, after speaking with several high end race engine shops, the Gen 3 LS oil galleries have a design flaw for high HP use, the 90* turn into the block is too tight and causes cavitation in the oil.
3) Crank flex - The SCAT stroker crank was flexing, we see evidence of some material transfer on teh caps indicating they were walking a bit. Plus the wear patterns indicate crank flex.
Some pictures below.
We are currently researching what to do next and more than likely we will be going with a Superdeck short block from these guys, and probably moving up to an oversquare 427cuin. 1/2" head studs etc etc
