GM3 Update

Well it has been a long time since the last update on the M3+LS project and all I can do is offer my appologies. To be honest it hasn't received a lot of love recently with the Detroit stuff in the way.

Having said that things have progressed so I figured I would share them now.

The underside of the car is ready for paint! All the important areas stiffened,gussetted and seam welded. Then sealed up with some protective primer and the seams sealed too.

The cage is complete other than the front door bars, apillar crush bars and some fine details. I have been waiting to finish the cage until I resolved the steering column, as getting in and out of a caged car is a PITB. Today I mocked in the new columns. It is a tilt and telescope adjusting unit from a C5 Audi A6, and it has a LOT of range adjustment which is perfect as this car will be a whore.

So now I need to mount the column for real and button up the steering linkage, and then move onto door bars and finishing up the inside and engine bay fab so it is ready for paint.
