Finally back from galavanting around the states and doing a bit more work on the M3. The goal here is to try to button up the chassis related fabrication and get it ready for paint sometime in the next couple of weeks. As usual billable work has to come first so things dont go as fast as I would really like, but such is life.
After a weekend of doing very nasty, dirty, hard overhead work which I have been putting off as it sucks, the underside is now complete and free of underseal. The seams got welded and short of a solvent wipe down it is ready for paint. The trunk floor replacement is underway and should be done soon. The rear subframe front mounts got thier cage tie tubes done so thats good too. The rear parcel tray was removed and will be replaced with aluminum panelling.
The next job is to button up the rest of the cage which wont take too long hopefully. After a day of making the harness bar and it not fitting I finally redid my tubing tests to figure out angles and spring back and found my dies are worn so I updated the mathematics and now am back on track :)
Here are some progress pics.
